Gent Fairhead has refused to engage with the public on its latest applications regarding the incinerator at Rivenhall (the ‘IWMF’). Essex County Council published a scoping report stating that public engagement was needed, but despite this, Gent Fairhead is remaining silent.
The Braintree and Witham Times reported on a public meeting organised to try and provide answers to the communities anxious about the incinerator, highlighting that even though officials from Essex County Council attended, Gent Fairhead were absent.
Witham MP, Priti Patel, provided a statement for the meeting saying: “The development of the Rivenhall Incinerator is an outrage and will cause harm and disruption to surrounding communities. The impact on health and on our roads cannot be underestimated. This development is unwelcome and unwanted.”
